Join us Friday November 30th from 5-7 pm for a reception opening the show of sculpture by Nick DeGennaro. Nick is a Senior at the UNF School of Fine Arts. The Vault is proud to support Senior Art Shows for university art programs in NE Florida. This sculpture will be available for viewing through December 14th.

Artist’s Statement
“My academic career began in engineering. I quickly learned that I did not have the mindset to sit at a computer crunching numbers. I eventually found my way to sculpture, I never lost the mathematical processes that led me to engineering. I find comfort in patterns and geometry – the predictability and dependability found within them. This has influenced my work. I like to create nonobjective geometric forms that are simple yet interesting. However, there is also a part of me that is fascinated by the unpredictability of life and the universe. With this in mind I try to find the patterns that govern the world around us. All existence is pattern, from birth to life and eventually decay. There are rules that govern it all and beg to be explored, challenged, and bent. I do this through sculpture.”
