ABOUT ANA CAVAGNA MARTINEZ

Ana Cavagna Martinez is an Argentinian artist, continiously inspired by nature, books and her philosophical studies.

She has spent the last 20 years out of Buenos Aires, going through trips and moving all around the world.

Her art is an abstract narration and sometimes depicting everything absorbed when going on walks.

The scenery, the animals, the terrain, the books and her fine sensibility let her see and feel. She works on paper and canvases with fluid acrylics, watercolor, carbon, plaster, ink, pastel paint and collage.

She studied journalism in Argentina and participated for years in the literary workshop of Grillo Della Paolera, writing short stories and poetry.

Her paintings have a clear literary language and a lot of her poetry is brought to life, in her canvases, waiting to be discovered.

She grew up in her mother’s atelier with the smell of paint in the middle of creation.

She studied art with Sofia Huidobro in Buenos Aires, and with Gaston Laval in Chile.

Later, she consolidated her relationship with Gres ceramics and alfarería.

Currently she works in her own atelier surrounded by the forest and the sea.
