SUMMARY:William McMahan Art Classes - “The Art of Rendering Japanese Plums in Colored Pencil” Feb 25th
DESCRIPTION:“The Art of Rendering Japanese Plums in Colored Pencil” \nPlease join me for my second class offering at The Vault 1930! This course will introduce and elaborate on techniques that I have developed for producing vibrant\, representational renderings in colored pencil on toned paper. In addition to explaining measuring methods and modes for creating symmetrical circles\, I will demonstrate a formula for building a drawing on top of a smooth white base of colored pencil. Contour and cross-contour lines will be explained and demonstrated to help make the plums themselves appear more dimensional\, and to highlight subtle plane shifts upon the leaves. Each class will be accompanied by step by step color handouts in order to help facilitate learning\, and to reinforce principles outside of class. \nRecommended materials: \n•	Strathmore mixed media toned paper\n•	Prismacolor Premiere and/or Fabre Castell colored pencils (no specific set or number of pencils)\n•	White gel pen\n•	Tombow mono zero \nTuesdays from 10 am – noon – February 25th (final of 3 classes)\n$100 per student for the 3 classes\nCall The Vault to Reserve Your Seat – 904-398-2890
